Uses Xbee(Series 1 @57600 baud) to emulate a serial cable, Serial Proxy enables Robodob to communicate with the socket-based Flash - AS3 Glue library, which is used to control it. A Arduino Pro Mini microcontroller inside Robodob is loaded with StandardFirmata2WithServo, which is a modification of the Firmata protocol The Gearbox from Tamiya and its two electrical motors are connected to a H-Bridge enabling individual forward and reverse rotation of the wheels. Semester ends. 19 Dec 2009 18:00 by majo So another semester has come to an end. My concept this time was called 'DyMo'. Stands for Dynamic Motor. Basically it is a sort drill-like device with a microcontroller. Theme for this years course was: "Could one produce and consume less and differently?" The concept aims to reduce production and consumption by having people share products, and having products share motor and energy source (battery).

The questions this essay asks: How can sharing products become a desired alternative? How can sharing products become ‘the’ preferred alternative? Firstly there is a defining of some keywords to the topic: consumption, production and paradigm shift. Each word will be looked into and explained according to a product context. Next there is a short establishing of what challenges the world is up against as a result the high levels of consumption and production. To explain a possible reason for why we are up against these challenges there is a glance back to the 1930s.
